Maybank Bad Service
I went to assist my 17 years old daughter to Maybank, Sunway Pyramid and was informed by a Malay front desk executive that Maybank require a copy of Birth certificate aside from the I/C to apply for an ATM Card. Since my daughter have an I/C, we usually don't carry her birth certificate copy so I said to the Malay front desk executive that she will just apply for a bank account and probably will apply for an ATM card on our next visit. He gave my daughter to fill up a form and after she completed filling up the registration form, we have to hand it over to an Indian bank executive as the Malay bank executive was not on his desk. After he read the registration form he said to me that my daughter must submit a copy of her birth certificate or else she cannot apply for a bank account. I told him that she's not applying for an ATM card but he still insist that it's a Maybank regulation and nothing to do with Bank Negara regulation. My daughter managed to have a bank account and an ATM card without a fuss at another bank on that day. Maybank service is getting bad as I was one of those early Maybank account holder when it started its business years ago....I wonder which law should we follow?
