The Saman Ekor System
This is a real case concerning saman ekor.
On June 2010 my car insurance and road tax expired. My insurance can be renewed but my road tax was blocked due to saman ekor that I have to cleared. So I went to PDRM and paid RM300 upon receipt of saman slip. I checked the details of the saman, the offence was on year 2008.
The question is how come I can renewed my road tax in year 2009? Is the computer system in tracking the saman issued is up to date?
Recently, my brother's car under my identity could not renew the road tax due to saman ekor.
This car is under different registration number and should not be penalized.
To date, I would not know how many list of saman ekor I have as I have not been flagged and acknowledge them. How do I know the reliability of the saman whether it is really under my identity?
To question the system use in tracking actual speed limit can be vary.
1. Can the authority assured that the camera use to detect speed limit is perfectly accurate?
Answer: I dont think so. The air space to detect signals can be attenuated due to whether, humid and also the position of camera. Is the camera system been correlated accordingly?
2. Collecting money from offences for paying the saman is not simply issuing a simple ticket, but the authority MUST issue a complete documents including video coverage, clear identity of the offences and details of certified camera that have been correlated including dates.
3. Saman tickets only valid within a month but not lapse for a long time.
