Cheating brand - Olympus

Think twice if you plan to buy Olympus camera.
I bought Olympus camera, mju 850 on 11th April 2009. Only 1 month after purchase, I cannot on it. After repairing, it functioned normally until last month. It spoilt again. I brought back to the service center, and they told me that there are few parts detected faulty, and need to be changed; one of the part is the main board. Just because my 1 year warranty has expired, charges are incurred. I'm assuming that Olympus, as a global brand, should be a durable brand. But just right after 1 year, half of the parts got problem and need to be changed. Some more I need to pay half of the money that Im paying for the camera. This is not fair to me, as a customer. Since the brand only last for a year, then they should have stated under your advertising claim as “ONLY LAST FOR 1 YEAR”. Then I shouldn’t have bought this brand and now I’m wasting my time & money to deal with all this unnecessary. I felt that I was being cheated by the brand and claims in TVC & advertising. Somemore claim that shock proof & water proof.
The customer service even brilliant. They gave me 3 options: 1) is to repair the camera – by paying half of the price that I’m paying for the camera; 2) to trade in the camera with other model; 3) I can choose to take back the camera. It’s so brilliant how they want to earn money, by asking customer to pay again for something that doesn’t last for 1 year! Then after 1 year, I got to deal with all these again?
I understand that the warranty is only for 1 year. If the faulty is minimal, such as cover spoilt, etc. I’m willing to pay for the repair. But now are the parts inside; this doesn’t make sense at all! Again, I felt cheated by Olympus!
